Alex Steinbach 130A Upright Piano – Walnut
A beautifully preserved Alex Steinbach 130A upright piano, made in Korea circa 1991, presented in its original walnut cabinet and remaining in remarkably pristine condition. Judging by its overall presentation and mechanical condition, this instrument appears to have had relatively light use throughout its life.
The 130A dates from a particularly interesting period in Alex Steinbach production, when the respected German piano designer and engineer Klaus Fenner was involved in the development of the instruments, including aspects of their German-influenced scale design and construction.
Standing an impressive 130cm high, this is a substantial upright piano with the string length and soundboard area to produce excellent projection, depth and acoustic presence. The result is a rich, full-bodied tone with considerably more authority than is normally associated with smaller upright models.
This instrument is fitted with German Röslau blue-label strings and Royal George hammer felt, further contributing to its attractive tonal character.
The piano has been tuned to A440 concert-standard pitch and offers a very responsive keyboard action, making it equally enjoyable for developing pianists and experienced players.
